Lead by compassion.
Compassion has always been important. But the kind of compassion we need now is very different from the compassion of yesterday.
It’s about a lot more than empathetic words and charitable giving.
The swirl of events in our communities and around the world, the pulling tide of our moral conscience and the expectations of new generations of stakeholders make it different. Compassion has become the recognizable signature of our common humanity, a key to the sustainability of our planet and an unmissable requirement of trusted leadership.
A new paradigm of caring, kindness and kinetic altruism is the standard by which employees, consumers, investors and voters make decisions about workplaces, global brands, public institutions and the great ideas that seek to capture their engagement.
Innovation is at the centre of this redefined compassion.
Wise leaders not only embrace these realities, they are becoming champions of them. Those who speak the language of compassion are the leaders who are building resilient compassion agendas, avoiding unintended harm with vibrant compassion guardrails and navigating waves of crisis to successful outcomes. They lead by compassion.

What we do
A purpose shaped by the power of compassion. Realized through the strength of innovation.
Most organizations understandably like to think of themselves as compassionate. But whether it’s in a hospital, university, municipality or corporation, compassion is typically the orphan of the organizational setting. Its effectiveness is blunted and its footprint diminished because it is most often dispensed through a patchwork of disconnected programs and underperforming intentions.
Compassion Innovation is changing that paradigm.
We deliver strategic counsel and leadership solutions to corporations and public institutions that build resilience and sustainability into a core value. In a time when much of the world and many workplaces are seeking a lighter touch and a more human face on the part of organizations and institutions, leveraging the power of compassion by putting it squarely on the agenda of smart leaders is a key to answering society’s most pressing needs for sustainability and well-being for the planet and all its inhabitants.
This is what we mean when we say, lead by compassion.
It’s what employees expect, stakeholders applaud and the public demands.

“When I use the word compassion, I don’t mean the typical “I feel your pain” platitudes politicians are quick to serve up in trying times. The compassion I’m calling for is kinetic. It proactively seeks to add comfort whenever it can. It employs mechanisms to mitigate inflicting preventable harms. It actively contributes to the sustainability of our lives, our society and our planet.
